A Bright Swedish Apartment with Period Features and a Green Kitchen
This one-bedroom apartment lies in a stunning turn-of-the-century corner property in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. The 62-square-meter apartment features original elements from the late 19th century and contemporary additions that blend seamlessly into the old home.
The apartment features large windows facing the park, creating wonderfully bright rooms with an open view. Period elements like tongue-and-groove paneling and a traditional Swedish fireplace have been preserved, while the kitchen and the bathroom were recently renovated, bringing this home to the 21st century.

The kitchen was renovated a couple of years ago, pairing the original tongue-and-groove paneling, an old serving cabinet, and a pantry with a new custom-made kitchen by Nordiska Kök.

The modern Nordiska Kök kitchen features light green cabinets with brass knobs, classic white subway tiles, and a Silestone countertop.

The high ceilings have been taken advantage of by adding a double row of upper cabinets to maximize storage space.

Next to the window, the tongue-and-groove paneling hides a built-in pantry.

The large window with the deep window bench offers a wonderful green view. It could also be an amazing window seat.

The original elements in the kitchen, like this serving cabinet, have been repainted in a classic white shade.

One wall is decorated with the Golden Lily wallpaper by William Morris.

The hall is fitted with three original built-in wardrobes. The walls are also decorated with the Golden Lily wallpaper but this time in a darker color palette.

The living room and the bedroom lie next to each other. Both rooms have large windows facing the park.

The living room is bright and airy with space for a dining table and a comfortable seating area. The television is hidden behind a white curtain.

The bedroom is a wonderful bright space with large windows. The entire room is framed by preserved stucco and intricate moldings and in the corner stands an original Swedish fireplace.

These original tiled fireplace are magnificent and come in different colors and styles. In this case, the tiling is very ornate and has a warm brown shade.

The former maid’s room has been turned into a bright bathroom with a classic design. On the floor lies a classic Victorian-style tiled floor in a green and white York pattern.

A clawfoot bath with vintage-inspired fittings add to the classical style of the bathroom.

There is also a tiny built-in wardrobe in the entry hall. Perfect for storing coats and shoes to keep the hall as tidy as possible.

The double front door is covered with a thick blue velvet curtain, probably to keep out a draft as it is an old apartment.
The apartment was listed for sale at Entrance Mäkleri.
