Classic Elements and Light Rooms in a Lovely Family Apartment
This turn-of-the-century apartment lies on the first floor of an Art Nouveau building in Stockholm. The three-bedroom apartment has recently been renovated, pairing original elements with bright, contemporary interiors.
The beautiful herringbone parquet floor, high ceilings, traditional fireplaces, and ceiling ornaments give the apartment a classic look. Large windows flood the interior spaces with light, and clever design has turned a large bedroom into two charming children’s rooms.

Two large windows in a row flood the living room with natural light. The beautiful ornate fireplace, herringbone parquet floor, and ceiling ornaments add typical turn-of-the-century style to the room, which contrasts nicely with the modern and midcentury furniture.

If you have followed this blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of these original Swedish fireplaces. This example is wonderful with intricate pastel blue and pink detailing.

An open doorway toward the inner hall adds a sense of space and lets light flow nicely throughout the apartment.

Original wooden doors lead to the two children’s rooms.

This space used to be one big room, but a pretty room divider from Nacka ByggnadsvÃ¥rd has turned it into two smaller children’s rooms. A curtain can be drawn over the inner window to close the second bedroom from natural light.

The other side of the room is painted in a lovely salmon pink hue. This room can also be accessed via the hall.

A small passageway between the hall and the children’s rooms is fitted with built-in wardrobes on either side.

The apartment is fitted with a modern kitchen made of simple white cabinets topped with a classic marble countertop and backsplash.

The space by the balcony door lends itself perfectly for a kitchen table.

The apartment has a large hall divided into two areas. The walls are decorated with a delicate wallpaper design by William Morris.

The master bedroom facing the courtyard is painted in a calming green shade. The room features built-in wardrobes that reach the high ceilings for maximum storage space.

The second original fireplace can also be found in this room. Together with a comfortable chair and bookshelves, it creates a charming reading nook.

The hall is fitted with a classic hat shelf and a shelf to store shoes.

The apartment was listed for sale at Tradition.
