A Renovated 1920s Villa with a Spectacular Garden
This 1920s villa in Varberg, a town on the west coast of Sweden, was carefully renovated by its current owners, pairing beautiful historical elements with contemporary additions, matching the building style of the early 20th century.
Original elements like the windows, high skirting boards, tongue-and-groove paneling, and mirror doors have been preserved, creating a historic atmosphere in the charming family home.
The three-bedroom family home is surrounded by a fantastic garden featuring a veranda, swimming pool, multiple patios, pergola, greenhouse, and a lawn surrounded by high trees, creating a private atmosphere filled with lush greenery.
The house is one of the oldest buildings in the neighborhood, and in the 1950s, it was used as a seamstress’s studio and a sewing factory.

Green double doors open into a hall with gray-painted floorboards paired with the “Honeysuckle” wallpaper from William Morris. On the right is space for shoes and coats, and even more storage is hidden behind a red velvet curtain.

An inner hall with marble checkerboard tiles runs to the back of the house where you’ll find a charming kitchen.

The kitchen cabinets and tongue-and-groove paneling are painted in a warm gray-beige shade. The cabinets are topped with a black granite countertop, and the non-paneled walls feature classic white metro tiles.

A charming breakfast nook has been created under the window with an antique wooden table and a mixture of chairs.

The wall between the living room and the kitchen is fitted with reclaimed windows, letting light flow throughout the spaces and also creating a social layout.

The living room walls are painted in a muted green shade and paired with a vibrant orange sofa.

There is a second sitting room with floral wallpaper in a 1920s style and a plank floor.

The second sitting room opens to a bright punchveranda that is now used as a dining room.

The walls are covered in white tongue-and-groove paneling and the windows in three directions offer a nice view of the green garden.

Glass doors open to the outside veranda.

The upper floor features three bedrooms. The master bedroom has gray-painted floorboards and a private balcony.

An open space connecting the bedrooms is now used as a wardrobe room with storage hidden behind floor-to-ceiling curtains.

The garden is a magnificent space, bordered by large trees, which creates a super private atmosphere. There is a large swimming pool and multiple patios. Perfect for children.

There are multiple covered patios, so you can enjoy the garden in the shade. One patio has an outside grill.

A large greenhouse with a brick floor creates a sheltered outdoor space when the weather is not good.

The house is listed at Erik Olsson.
