A Spacious Family Apartment with Original Details in Stockholm
On the fifth floor of a beautiful Art Nouveau building in Stockholm, you can find this spacious family apartment with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The apartment has a unique layout with cozy angles and an inner hall with a fireplace that can be used as a second sitting room. Turn-of-the-century elements have been preserved, like wooden doors, high skirting boards, and a built-in serving cabinet that adds a lovely historic atmosphere to the home.
The entire apartment is painted in light hues like green, gray, and pink, paired with the occasional color pop like a pink sofa, a red piano, or a green rug. It’s colorful without being overwhelming.

The living room is defined by a large bay window overlooking the street with historic buildings. Thanks to the apartment’s high location, sunlight flows into the room even in the winter months.

The walls are painted in a light blue shade, which pairs beautifully with the pink sofa. The original is painted white, making it stand out nicely, and on the floor lies the original herringbone parquet floor.

One larger room has been divided, creating two smaller bedrooms. One can be accessed via the double doors in the living room and is now used as a home office with a cork desk.

Older Scandinavian apartments often have an inner hall, a space that can be used for all kinds of things, like a home office, a library, or even a bedroom.

In this apartment, it is used as a music room with half-painted walls and a cozy fireplace in the corner that was probably added in the 1920s.

The long hall with wooden floorboards and built-in wardrobes is spacious and offers storage. There is even room for a bold red piano and charming old cinema chairs.

The kitchen faces the courtyard, and it is a charming room with walls painted in a light pink hue paired with square white tiles for a nice bistro look.

The ceiling height has been utilized by adding a double row of upper cabinets, providing ample storage. The light gray cabinet doors are paired with nickel and leather handles and a stainless steel countertop.

In the corner by the window, there is plenty of space for a large dining table set upon a green rug and with a wooden bench.

Hanging above the dining table is a beautiful brass and glass pendant light from Anders Pehrson.

From the kitchen, you walk into a serving hallway with the original serving cabinets and built-in wardrobes from the year the house was built.

The master bedroom is spacious and faces the quiet courtyard. The walls are painted in a light gray hue paired with wooden floorboards.

In total, the apartment has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for a larger family. One of the bedrooms (next to the kitchen) also has an original built-in wardrobe.

The largest bathroom has a freestanding bath, white tiles, and a ceiling painted in a gray-green hue.

The hallway is bright thanks to the double glass doors leading to the apartment’s small balcony.
