Exposed Brick and Bright Color Pops in a Malmö Apartment
On the second floor of an early 20th-century apartment in Malmö, in Southern Sweden, lies this beautiful one-bedroom apartment where period elements are paired with bold color pops.
Historical features from the turn of the century, like stucco, high moldings, and tall windows, have been lovingly preserved and combined with modern Scandinavian furniture, raw elements in an exposed brick wall in the kitchen, and a wonderful color palette.

The living room is a space with wonderful proportions. The high ceilings and tall windows create an airy atmosphere, while the warm, natural shade on the walls and the herringbone parquet floor add warmth and coziness.

A New Works “Tense” pendant hangs from the stuccoed ceiling, and the brown velvet Etcetera lounge chair is a wonderful sculptural statement piece.

A bright orange cabinet with a matching table lamp adds a nice color pop to the room.

Double mirror doors separate the living room from the kitchen. When opened, it creates a large social space.

The herringbone parquet floor continues into the kitchen space, where it is paired with a light color scheme, an exposed brick feature wall, and period elements like stucco and a ceiling rose.

The kitchen pairs a modern with an industrial style. Modern white cabinets are topped with a concrete countertop and a fabulous raw brick wall. The blue flowerpot pendants by &Tradition add a nice color pop.

The room is completed with a large dining table surrounded by classic Cesca chairs.

The walls in the hallway are painted in a warm brown shade paired with a simple wooden floor and a popping blue cabinet.

The walls and ceiling in the bedroom are painted in a lovely light blue shade paired with white-painted floorboards and a large multi-colored rug.

Thanks to the L-shape layout of the room, there is a functional dressing space with white wardrobes, a large mirror, and a white-painted brick wall. The room has a French balcony overlooking the courtyard.

The apartment was listed for sale at Bolaget.
