Terrazzo and a Soft Peach and Sage Green Palette in an Art Deco-Inspired London Home
A 1930s home in the Leyton area in London has been fully renovated and extended, creating a wonderful family home with light and colorful interior spaces.
During the renovation, new windows, complementing the 1930s-style internal doors and reeded glass, were added, along with elements such as door handles, architraves, and skirting in Art Deco style.
The four-bedroom features streamlined angles and a strong sense of symmetry, paired with bold Miami Art Deco décor, creating wonderful spaces.

The front door opens into a bright hall with archways painted in Pickleson Paint “Aegean Sage” that divide the hall from the living room.

When you enter the living room, you are greeted by beautiful Versailles-style basket-weave engineered flooring paired with dark green walls and ceiling (“Europa Green” by Pickleson Paint).

The room features a large bay window fitted with wooden louvered shutters, flooding the room with natural light.

The room is centered around a fluted 1930s marble mantelpiece with a custom terrazzo insert from Diespeker London.

A small alcove in the sitting room has been transformed into a charming home office painted in Claybrook Studio’s “Peach Juice,” which is also open to the kitchen.

The Art Deco arches help to create a more open feeling, while still creating a dedicated entry area.

The entry hall is painted in Claybrook Studio’s “Peach Juice” (same as the home office alcove) and Farrow & Ball’s “Pointing.”

The entire ground floor features soft peach and sage green color accents, creating a harmonious look between the spaces.

The back of the house has been extended, creating a light-filled social kitchen and dining space lighted by a large skylight, a picture window with a window seat overlooking the garden, and steel-framed glass garden doors.

The entire room features a champagne-colored cork floor from Bricoflor, adding to the soft natural look of this room.

A built-in bench, matching the plywood style of the kitchen cabinets, provides seating and storage space by the dining table with a soft pink top.

The kitchen is designed with plywood cabinetry, featuring reeded glass in the cabinets above the sink, accent paneling, and bespoke terrazzo worksurfaces, including a waterfall edge by the kitchen island.
In the corner, you can see the arched opening of the living room’s home office.

The walls in the kitchen are painted in a soft pink shade called “Masquerade Light” by Little Greene. The water kettle and toaster are a collaboration between Haden and Poodle & Blonde.

Floor-to-ceiling storage has been fitted on the other side, featuring soft-green cabinet doors.

The utility room is fitted with the same plywood cabinetry as the kitchen, paired with Mandarin Stone Pebble Green Porcelain terrazzo floor tiles.

The powder room is decorated with an Art Deco-inspired wallpaper (“Miami Vibe” by Lust Home) paired with scalloped tiling and dark green fittings.

The two-tone walls continue upstairs, where the architraves are painted to match the sage green banisters. This floor features engineered herringbone flooring.

The family bathroom features multi-colored terrazzo tiles by the Italian brand Quintessenza Ceramiche paired with matt black fittings and a warm yellow ceiling.

This floor features three bedrooms. The room overlooking the garden features a multi-colored look with walls painted in “Green 09” by Lick Paint and “Dimitry” by Farrow & Ball. The contrasting blue ceiling is painted in Farrow & Ball’s “Cook’s Blue.”

The front room features the characteristic bay window with a bespoke built-in seating bench. The walls are painted in “Hansel and Gretel” by Fired Earth.

The sage-green staircase with a custom striped runner leads you to the loft extension, now used as the master suite.

The room features a serene pink-hued palette of “Masquerade Light” by Little Greene, “Filthy Terracotta” by Pickleson Paint, and “Pointing” by Farrow & Ball.

The room is fitted with a light-filled alcove featuring a double-ended bathtub and Made.com brass lights that match the brass fittings. The Pebble Green terrazzo floor is from Mandarin Stone, and the fluted wall tiling from Topps Tiles.

On the other side is a stylish shower room featuring the same color and material palette. The walk-in rainfall shower features a reeded glass screen. While the mounted vanity unit is topped with a concrete peach basin.

A blue-and-green geometric-tiled path leads you to a plank-style timber front door with reeded windows painted in “Calming Peach” by YesColour. The arched porch is painted in “Tequila Green” by Pickleson Paint.

The house is listed for £900,000 at Eeleven.
