A Colorful 1940s Apartment in Stockholm
This 1940s apartment in a neighborhood south of central Stockholm paired period features with contemporary additions and plenty of color. The colorful apartment has a floor plan of only 58 square meters, but it has two bedrooms and a smart layout.
The midcentury apartment features beautiful original elements like a Dutch parquet floor (typical in these 1940s Swedish apartments) and high ceilings. Newer additions, like the kitchen, are designed in a traditional style to complement the original architecture.

From the hall, there is an open layout to the apartment’s living room. The original Dutch parquet floor is paired with an old pink color on the walls and a blue velvet sofa.

The light-filled room has enough space for a sitting area and a dining table. In this picture, you can see the open layout toward the hall, adding a sense of space. The doorway with the colorful curtain gives access to the second bedroom.

The hall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with mirror doors, making the hall and living area look bigger.

From the hall, you can access the kitchen. The small renovated corner kitchen has doors painted in Klint’s ‘Villa Villekulla Gul’ paired with colorful knobs and a marble-look laminate countertop.

The walls are decorated with a classic white subway tile, with the exception of one wall that features the Gocken Jobs Rabarber wallpaper from BorÄstapeter.

Back in the hall, you can access the largest bedroom next to the living room.

The largest bedroom also features the original parquet floor, paired with a classic green shade on the walls. The room is wonderfully light thanks to a large window and glass balcony door.

The second bedroom, facing the lush courtyard garden, is painted in a warm orange terracotta shade.

The hall is decorated with the blue elephant wallpaper by Svenskt Tenn.
The apartment was listed for sale at FastighetsbyrÄn.
