A Beautiful Edwardian House with Period Features

On a broad street in the English village of Moseley stands a magnificent red-brick-and-stucco Edwardian house partially covered by mature wisteria that erupts in purple flora in the spring.

The beautiful 259 square meter (2796 sq ft) house features many period elements, such as stained glass, fireplaces, and bay windows. The current owners carefully renovated the house to support and enhance the original features.

The double reception room on the ground floor is turned into a sitting room at the back of the house and a dining room in front. The sitting room is a wonderfully bright space thanks to the large windows and door leading to the garden.

The kitchen, at the back of the house, is a contrasting space with classic cabinets painted in ‘Setting Plaster’ by Farrow and Ball, while the ceiling and walls are painted in a moody ‘Paen Black’ also by Farrow and Ball.

Calacatta Viola marble tiles are used as backsplashes in the room.

The hallway is a beautiful and typical Edwardian space with stained glass windows that soften the light, restored terracotta floor tiles, and a gorgeous staircase.

The staircase, wall moldings, and banister have been painted in ‘Lichen’ by Farrow & Ball. This sage green shade returns in Morris and Co’s ‘Willow Boughs’ wallpaper.

There are four bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom is painted in a calm green hue and paired with dramatic dark wooden floorboards and a black fireplace with glassy green tiles.
