Blue and Red Color Accents in a Stylish Scandinavian Apartment
This beautiful two-bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of a late 19th-century apartment building in Stockholm. The 95 square meter apartment was carefully renovated in recent years, adding a thoughtfully chosen color palette and site-built furniture.
Period elements from the turn-of-the-century have been preserved, like the stucco, high ceilings (3.3 meters), large windows, double wooden doors, and traditional Swedish fireplaces. These classic elements are paired with vintage and contemporary furniture and decor, as well as bright red and blue color pops.

The entire apartment is painted in a beige-gray color scheme, using Little Greene’s “Slaked Lime Mid” and Slaked Lime Deep”.

The living room is an inviting space with a seating area by the traditional Swedish fireplace and a large dining table under the large windows.

The beige tone on the walls and the wooden floorboards create a calm base for the interior spaces. It is spruced up with colorful accents in the decor and furnishings, like the colorful pillows and throw blankets.

One wall is fitted with a custom-built bookcase painted in “Bamboozle” by Farrow & Ball.

A large dining table with vintage school chairs sits under the large windows with deep window niches.

Next to the living room, separated by a pair of wooden doors, is the smallest bedroom. The room is now used as a home office and guest bedroom with a custom-built desk with drawers under the window.

The second original fireplace can also be found in this room. On the floor lies the Folding Ribben Rug designed by Campbell-Rey for Nordic Knots.

The passageway between the guest bedroom and the hall is painted in a bold orange-red shade and features built-in wardrobes.

The wall is fitted with built-in wardrobes and bookcases. The walls (and bookcase interior) are painted in “Deco Blue” by Jotun.

The kitchen is simple and classic in design with gray-beige cabinets topped with black granite countertops.

The space under the window is the perfect spot for a small kitchen table. The large cobalt blue artwork adds a nice color pop to the space.

Next to the kitchen, facing the courtyard, lies the master bedroom with a private balcony.

The bedroom is fitted with built-in wardrobes, featuring a smart hanging rails between the lower and upper cabinets.

In the bathroom, the walls and floor are covered in Bricmate’s limestone imitation. There is a wall cabinet and storage under the sink with doors from Superfront.
