A Classic Late 19th Century Apartment with Magnificent Views of Stockholm
If you’ve ever been to Stockholm, you may recall the historic buildings on a hill with a Coca-Cola sign at the top. This classic one-bedroom apartment is located on the fourth floor of this late 19th-century building, and as you can imagine, it offers magnificent views over Stockholm’s Gamla Stan, City Hall, and Lake Mälaren.
The 78-square-meter apartment features beautiful original elements, including high ceilings (3.60 meters) and arched windows. When they moved in, the current owners also restored period features, such as moldings, serving cabinets, and a fireplace, enhancing the historical feel.

The living room is spacious and features a classic look, with a warm beige tone by Farrow & Ball on the walls, a classic oiled oak parquet floor laid in a herringbone pattern, and two large arched windows that offer spectacular views.

The glass doors in the living room open to a spacious wrought-iron balcony, which is the absolute selling point of this apartment. The view over Stockholm is one of the finest you can get.

The apartment has only one bedroom, but thanks to the high ceilings, they created a loft space in the living room with a guest bed.

The green-tiled fireplace, adorned with beautiful decorations, was added to the home in 2021 and complements the apartment’s architectural style.

The space under the loft bed has been turned into a home office with built-in cabinets and shelves.

The spacious kitchen pairs dark-stained cabinets from Kvänum with thick Carrara marble countertops and white backsplash tiles.

The walls are painted in cream white, and the floor is covered in white and orange-toned mosaic tiles.

The room is large enough for a seating area, or you can add a kitchen table. The serving cabinet is painted in green linseed oil and features glass doors.

The walls in the hall are painted in a cream-white shade (Auro from Byggfabriken) and an oiled oak parquet in a herringbone pattern. There is a wide doorway and an industrial glass wall between the hall and the kitchen, creating an open atmosphere.

The bedroom is a serene space with walls painted in a light gray tone from Auro and the same parquet floor as in the living room and hall.

The built-in wardrobes are designed to maximize the ceiling height and offer plenty of storage.

The apartment features a fully tiled bathroom with Kolmård marble flooring that extends up to meet the white tiles. There are antique Rörstrand porcelain shelves in the shower.
