A Classic Stockholm Family Apartment with a Separate Studio
This fantastic Swedish apartment with many period features is located in a stately turn-of-the-century building in a quiet area of the trendy Södermalm island in Stockholm.
Many original elements have been preserved, like exquisite stucco, high baseboards, ceiling rosettes, and four traditional tiled fireplaces.
These historical elements are paired with a lovely color palette of gray, blue, and green shades. In addition, the apartment has two entrances, and one half can be used as a separate studio apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom.

The living room is an inviting space, bathing in natural light thanks to two large mullioned windows.

Like many Scandinavian apartments, it has a circular floor plan, meaning that all the rooms are connected and you can also see that beautifully in this picture. With all the (gorgeous) wooden doors open, you can see through the apartment into the master bedroom.

The living room has a beautiful tiled fireplace in a soft pastel blue hue.

On the other side of the room, you can see through the other side of the apartment into the separate studio apartment on the other end.

With the wooden doors open, you can create a social open-plan living space with the living room and kitchen next to each other. But I always like it when the rooms can be closed off for a more private atmosphere.

The kitchen was recently renovated and pairs mint green doors with a gray limestone countertop and gray walls.

Another traditional fireplace has been preserved in this room and breaks up the kitchen cabinets.

A dining table with a cork table top sits in front of the large windows.

The master bedroom faces the courtyard and features beautiful details in the preserved wooden floors, high skirting boards, stucco, grand double doors, and another wonderful tiled stove.

The inner hall between the living room and the master bedroom has been fitted with a large closet space that can be hidden from view with curtains. An excellent use of space, and the bedroom doesn’t need to be cluttered up with large, bulky wardrobes.

The second bedroom has gray-green walls and a nice exposed brick feature wall.

The room also opens to a charming balcony.

A small room (now used as an office space) connects the kitchen of the main apartment with the combined living room and bedroom in the smaller second apartment.

The same style of gray and blue tones continues into this studio apartment. The main room has enough room for a seating area and a double bed.

This room also has a beautiful fireplace, and one wall is fitted with custom cabinets.

The studio apartment has a tiny and practical kitchen with white and light gray cabinets, a dark stone countertop, and a brass faucet.

A double row of upper cabinets maximizes storage space in the small kitchen.

The studio apartment has its own entrance. This apartment is fantastic for a family with an older child or an older relative who wants to live together while still having their own space.
The apartment is listed for sale at Bjurfors.
