A Green Swedish Corner Apartment with an Open Floor Plan
This charming one-bedroom apartment lies on the first floor of a 1920s apartment building in the Birkastan area of Stockholm. The apartment is located in a corner position, meaning it has beautiful large windows in two directions, offering views and natural light.
The apartment pairs classic early 20th-century elements, like a decorative ceiling and large windows with deep window niches, with contemporary functionality. Despite having a floor area of less than 50 square meters, the open floor plan makes it feel spacious.

From the entry hall, you enter an “inner hall” that connects the living room with the kitchen, the bathroom, and the walk-in closet. There are no doors between the inner hall and the living room and the kitchen, creating a nice flow in the apartment.

Green is the main color used in the apartment. The living room is a wonderful example of using two shades of the same color in one room. All the woodwork is painted in a deeper shade of green, creating a nice ton-sur-ton effect.

The living room is located in the corner position, and with three large original windows, the room is light, and you can look out over the street with historic buildings.

Pink and green are a classic color combination. The green walls and joinery in the living room are paired with a vibrant pink sofa, adding a nice color pop.

On the other side of the room, the owners created a cozy dining nook with a round wooden table surrounded by classic bistro chairs. A charming arched niche has been fitted with bookshelves.

From the living room, there is an open doorway toward the apartment’s small bedroom. The doorway can be closed with a sliding door for privacy.

Small but practical. The apartment’s bedroom is also painted green and features a custom headboard with storage and integrated brass bedside lamps.

The kitchen is designed with classic cream-colored cabinets and an island featuring a wine cooler.

The bathroom is designed with white tiles and a dark wooden cabinet hiding the washing machine and other storage space.

The entry hall is fitted with a hat rack and simple white shoe cabinets. Further on, there is a large walk-in closet.
The apartment was listed for sale at Bjurfors.
