IKEA Unveils 21 New Smart Home Products Compatible with Matter
IKEA is taking another bold step into the smart home world with the launch of 21 new devices designed to make connected living more straightforward, more affordable, and more accessible than ever.
Focused on lighting, sensors, and smart control, the new collection is fully compatible with Matter, the universal smart home standard that lets products from different brands work seamlessly together.
Rolling out from early 2026, this updated smart home lineup marks a significant evolution of IKEA’s digital living strategy, redesigned from the ground up after years of real-home testing and customer insight.

“Until now, smart home technology has not been easy enough or affordable enough for most people,” says David Granath, Product Manager at IKEA of Sweden. “With this launch, we can help more people take the step towards a smarter home.”

Smarter, Simpler, More Connected
IKEA’s refreshed smart home lineup centers around three essential pillars:
Lighting
The new KAJPLATS range introduces 11 smart bulbs with fresh shapes, sizes, and brightness levels. Options include dimmable white light, tunable white spectrum, and full color lighting, a significant upgrade from IKEA’s previous TRÅDFRI bulbs.

Highlights include:
- E27/E26 standard bulbs up to 1521 lumens
- Compact P45 E14 bulbs (also E12/E17 depending on region)
- GU10 spotlights
- Decorative clear glass options for stylish, ambient lighting

Sensors
IKEA is expanding into smart home safety and environmental monitoring with five compact, easy-to-use sensors:
- MOSQUITO SPRAY – Motion sensor for indoor/outdoor lighting automation
- MOSQUITO BIT – Door/window sensor for alerts and triggered lighting
- TIMMERFLOTTE – Temp & humidity monitor with one-button display
- ALPSTUGA – Air quality sensor monitoring CO₂, PM2.5, humidity & temperature
- CLIPPBOOK – Water leak sensor with audible alerts + mobile notification support

These devices aim to enhance daily comfort and help prevent costly home issues, such as leaks or poor air quality, before they escalate.
Smart Control
For easy management of smart devices, IKEA is releasing new remotes and plugs:
- CAR ROAD — Two-button smart remote
- Scroll-Wheel Remote — Twist to dim, switch modes, or control groups
- CAR TRIP Color Sets — Packs of playful multicolor remotes
- GRILLPLATS Smart Plug — Converts any standard device into a smart one, with energy monitoring

Powered by DIRIGERA — or Any Matter Hub
All new products are compatible with Matter, enabling them to integrate seamlessly with popular platforms such as Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.
While the DIRIGERA hub remains IKEA’s recommended controller, users can choose any Matter-certified hub. DIRIGERA also acts as a Matter bridge, ensuring existing IKEA smart products stay compatible even as new ones roll out.

“We want to make smart home technology simple from installation to daily use,” says Stjepan Begic, IKEA Product Developer. “This launch solves more everyday challenges and makes it easier to start, use, and grow a smart home.”
Designed for Real Homes & Real Life
IKEA has been exploring smart home solutions since 2012, but this launch marks a deeper focus on how technology can support daily life, rather than complicate it.
The result? Thoughtful, affordable products that blend quietly into the home while providing comfort, convenience, and peace of mind. With this new range, IKEA isn’t just expanding its smart product lineup; it’s redefining accessible connected living for the mass market.
Whether you’re just getting started with smart lighting or building a fully connected home, IKEA’s newest devices aim to make it simple, scalable, and stylish.
