Light Colors and Large Corner Windows in a Stockholm Apartment

This bright corner apartment is located on the top floor of a 1930s building in Stockholm. The spacious, 91 square meter apartment has recently undergone a renovation, preserving original elements and adding a light color scheme.

Apartments built in this period often have large windows, and in this apartment, sunlight follows you around, also thanks to the apartment’s corner position. In addition to the windows, the 1930s home also features the original parquet floors and a beautiful fireplace.

The apartment has a spacious living space, with a sitting area on one side and a dining area on the other. The original fireplace sits in the center of the room.

One wall is fitted with built-in shelves and cabinets that can also house the television.

The large south-facing windows flood the room with natural light.

A wide doorway leads you to the other side of the living room which is now used as a dining area.

From the dining room, glass doors open to the balcony, which feels like a wonderful secluded spot surrounded by large trees.

Looking at these pictures, it’s hard to imagine this apartment is located in a city.

A sliding door opens into the principal bedroom with light walls and built-in wardrobes along one wall.

In the corner, the room also features an original built-in closet.

Large corner windows turn the room into a bright space, and the views of the trees outside create the perfect backdrop for a home office.

The kitchen is the heart of the home, with space for a generous table, especially when it is paired with a bench.

The kitchen is built with IKEA frames paired with new and repainted doors in a warm beige color. This is combined with spacious quartz composite/natural stone countertops and white wall tiles.

The second bedroom, featuring two original built-in closets, is now used as a charming shared children’s room.

A simple desk, big enough for two children, is fitted against the wall next to the window with (again) beautiful views of the trees outside.

The bathroom features gray stone-like tile. The sink is built into a marble slab that runs along an entire wall, and underneath there is a chest of drawers with a combined washing machine and dryer next to it. A long mirror cabinet on the wall provides plenty of storage.

During the most recent renovation, a new tile floor with a beige-and-gray checkerboard pattern was laid in the hall.
