Light-Filled Rooms in a Renovated 1920s Home in Denmark
This beautifully restored master bricklayer’s villa from 1920 in the Danish city of Aarhus is a home where classic architecture is thoughtfully paired with modern comfort and meticulous attention to detail.
With 135 square meters of living space and an additional 40-square-meter basement, the house offers generous room for family life, creativity, and everyday functionality.
Over the years, the villa has undergone a careful and comprehensive renovation, always with deep respect for its original character. New walls and ceilings, a completely updated kitchen, and a stylish modern bathroom now form a harmonious whole, blending the home’s historic soul with contemporary materials and craftsmanship.

The kitchen is truly the heart of the home, and a work of art in its own right. Here, functionality meets fine design in a space defined by custom details.

The handmade handles, crafted by a glassblower, ensure that no two are alike, adding a subtle yet striking layer of personality. The walnut cabinets are topped with marble. One wall is decorated with a double wedding ring pattern.

There are no upper cabinets on one side, allowing your view to draw outside. The beautiful arched window is a nice architectural element in this space. The other wall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling built-in cabinets to maximize storage space. The white doors blend in nicely with the walls.

The spacious kitchen has a dedicated spot for the dining table in front of the windows. Beautiful wooden doors separate the living room from the kitchen.

Through a pair of wooden doors, you enter the cozy sitting room with dark-stained wooden floorboards.

The hall is decorated with the Sibylla wallpaper and features built-in wardrobes.

The first floor was completely reimagined in 2021. Once a separate apartment, it now features a modern and family-friendly layout with three spacious bedrooms, a bathroom, and a private ensuite connected directly to the parents’ bedroom.

The bathroom is a work of art with marble floor tiles laid in a herringbone pattern, a large shower, and even a hanging chair.
The house is listed for sale at Home.
