Light Rooms and a Moody Color Palette in a 1930s Apartment
This 1930s apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden, is only 45 square meters big. However, large windows flood the rooms with natural light, and an open floor plan makes this one-bedroom apartment feel more spacious.
The apartment lies on the top floor of the apartment building, so it offers nice views of the rooftops and the sky. Thanks to the large windows, the rooms are light, and therefore, the moody color palette doesn’t make the rooms feel dark and small at all.
From the entrance, there is an open layout to the living room. The wide window with the original 1930s limestone windowsill creates an airy atmosphere and offers nice views of the surroundings.
There is plenty of room for a comfortable seating area by the window which is defined by a jute rug.
The moody gray tones on the walls are paired with brighter colors in the accessories, adding a cheerful tone to the interiors.
The glass door opens to a spacious balcony.
You can clearly see the open layout between the living room and the hall. The hall also features a large mirror that can reflect natural light coming from the large windows. When the door to the bedroom is also open, natural light flows in from two directions.
A charming dining area is created next to the sofa with a round table and shelves on the wall.
The kitchen is the first room you see when you enter the apartment. The walls and cabinets are painted in the same green tone, and there is plenty of room for a large kitchen table.
They paired the moody tones with brighter accents, just like in the living room. The yellow tablecloth and pastel blue chairadds a fresh color pop to the space.
Charming niches have been created in the wall for cookbooks and decor.
The bedroom is painted in the same color as the living room, but as this room has a smaller window, it looks darker.
Two built-in wardrobes offer plenty of storage space. This room also features a large mirror to reflect the morning light coming from the window.
The hall is welcoming and spacious, directly to the left inside the door there is built-in storage with both a bench, shoe rack and cabinet storage that has been tastefully painted to match the wall color.
The apartment was listed for sale at Alvhem.
