Muted Tones, Art, and Books in a Charming Stockholm Apartment
This two-bedroom apartment is located in a turn-of-the-century apartment complex in the popular Södermalm area in Stockholm. Classic turn-of-the-century elements from the time the house was built in 1884 have been preserved, and the interiors are a nice mixture of styles and time.
The apartment has a generous ceiling height, deep window sills, and wooden floors that add a wonderful charm to the home. The apartment has been renovated in recent years, creating an open-plan living space, but it still has a lived-in and historic feeling.

Two large windows flood the open-plan living space with light. A round table has been placed in the center of the room. This is a space for entertaining and dinner parties.
The living space isn’t very big, but a wide doorframe (without a door) between the living room and hall makes the room feel larger.
One wall has been fitted with a classic kitchen featuring gray/brown cabinet doors, white backsplash tiles, and marble worktops. I always like the combination of closed and open cabinets or shelves.
Next to the living room lies the master bedroom, painted in a soft light pink hue. One wall is fitted with built-in wardrobes, and I like how they continued the white paint from the top of the wall to the gray wardrobes as well.
The smaller bedroom is painted in a light yellow shade paired with bolder shades of yellow and a colorful rug.
Not everyone pays much attention to their hallway, but in this apartment, they fully used the available space by adding bookshelves and adorning the gray walls with art. The black and white marble checkerboard floor adds a classic tone to the entryway.
The apartment was listed for sale at Svenska Mäklarhuset.
