Neutral Tones and Period Character from the 1910s in a Stockholm Apartment
Period character from the 1910s shines through in this one-bedroom apartment in Stockholm. Wooden floorboards, a fireplace, chest panels, stucco, and high ceilings have been preserved from the beginning of the 20th century, adding lots of character to this charming apartment.
The 55 square meter apartment has an inviting open-plan living space with four large windows in a row, adding plenty of natural light. And a recently added balcony attached to the bedroom extends the living area in the summer months.

The apartment has a charming living room with beautiful wooden floorboards, a large jute rug, and a velvet green sofa under the windows with deep window niches that lend themselves perfectly to display books, lamps, and other decor.

A cozy sitting area by the fireplace is created using a sheepskin chair and a Kare Design ‘Hologram’ mirror.

The sitting room’s focal point is this beautiful original fireplace that adds character to the room and warmth in the evening.

The walls in the living room are painted in “Slaked Lime Mid” by Little Greene. A light yet warm neutral shade that highlights the white-painted stucco.

The apartment has an open layout toward the hall, which makes the room feel bigger.

The black and white stool from H&M adds a nice graphic touch to the living room.

The round dining table is surrounded by white chairs with zebra upholstery. The table connects the sitting area with the kitchen.

The kitchen has a simple design with cabinets from HTH paired with white fronts, a black laminate countertop, and light blue-gray backsplash tiles.

A beautiful glass-framed mirror door leads you to the apartment’s only bedroom.

The bedroom is a serene space with walls painted in the lovely gray-green colour “Tracery II” from Little Greene, paired with warm terracotta-colored curtains.

The room features two original built-in wardrobes as well as a modern wardrobe with sliding doors.

Glass doors open to the courtyard balcony which was added to the apartment in 2023.

The hall is furnished with custom-made bench, wardrobes, and cupboards painted in the same beige hue as the walls in the living room.
