Nestled into a quiet neighborhood in Orem, Utah. Modern Elm, showcased in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes, is more than a residence. It’s a carefully composed experience designed to feel at once transportive and grounding.

Created by Interior Concepts Design House for Crumbl co-founder Sawyer Hemsley, the 15,000-square-foot home blends the romance of Old World European architecture with forward-thinking technology and globally sourced materials.

Throughout the interiors, moments of personal storytelling quietly unfold, from textures inspired by travel to details that reflect the homeowner’s passions for baking, nature, and design.

Rather than chasing trends, Modern Elm was envisioned as a haven, a place where bold design statements coexist with deep comfort.

At the center of the home sits a sculptural kitchen anchored by a full suite from Officine Gullo, including an OG Professional cooking range, matching hood, refrigeration columns, sinks, and a custom island outfitted with refined cabinetry and drawers.

Rendered in deep Terra Brown matte tones and finished with burnished brass accents, the kitchen grounds the home’s natural palette in warmth and depth. Rustic charm meets contemporary sophistication here, forming a space that feels equally suited for everyday rituals or grand culinary performances.

For designers Jacci Hood-Miller and Allison Johnson, the decision to specify Officine Gullo came down to creative freedom.

“We loved that it offered more than just a range,” Johnson explains. “The suite included refrigeration, cabinetry, and plumbing, which allowed us to approach the kitchen design holistically.

The wide variety of colors and finishes gave us the freedom to tailor the pieces to suit the homeowner and the overall aesthetic of the space.”

Conceived as a dedicated scullery for a homeowner deeply passionate about cooking and baking, the kitchen was designed to inspire creativity while supporting highly specific culinary functions.

Custom cabinetry was meticulously tailored to ensure that every tool, ingredient, and appliance has its place, transforming the room into both a professional-grade workspace and a welcoming retreat.

The design itself draws inspiration from Hemsley’s travels and his love for intimate bakeries filled with nostalgia and the unmistakable scent of fresh pastries.

For Hemsley, Modern Elm is more than an architectural achievement; it’s an emotional landscape layered with memory.

“This home means more to me than I can explain. It’s filled with love, heart, intention, and layers of meaning, from childhood memories and travels to my love for design, dogs, nature, favorite colors, and all the little things in between.”

Every room was designed not simply to impress, but to reflect identity, to welcome friends, foster creativity, and create meaningful moments over time.
