A Stockholm Apartment Color-Drenched in Green, Pink, and Blue Tones
This 58-square-meter apartment in Stockholm impresses from the moment you step inside. The apartment, located on the first floor of a turn-of-the-century building in the trendy Södermalm area in Stockholm, is color-drenched in pink, blue, and green tones.
The apartment from 1905 has undergone a complete renovation, preserving its historic character, such as stucco, cornicing, and floorboards, while pairing it with new additions in a classic style using high-quality materials.
The result is a home that is out of the ordinary. There is no white wall in sight, with soft pink tones, a two-tone blue bedroom, and a painted ceiling imitating the sky.

From the front door, a small, open hall opens directly into the heart of the home: the kitchen. This is the apartment’s natural gathering space with a spacious cooking area, a music corner, and glazed doors opening to the balcony.

The site-built kitchen features custom-made cabinets painted in a nice green tone paired with brass knobs and fittings.

The green kitchen cabinets are paired with a light ash countertop and glossy green backsplash tiles.

A built-in bench has been added to the space, providing storage under the seat and creating a social element in the kitchen.

Pink and green are a classic color combination, as this kitchen shows that perfectly. The large checkerboard runner adds a hint of blue, drawing its color inspiration from the beautiful painted ceiling that resembles the sky.

The open area by the glazed balcony doors is now a charming music corner with a piano and a guitar. While a pink-painted shelf stores the coffee maker, freeing up counterspace. This corner would also be a wonderful breakfast corner.

From the kitchen, you move onto the southwest-facing balcony with enough space for two large lounge sofas.

The love for color continues in the living room, where instead of pink walls, there is a pink ceiling.

The living room is defined by large, high windows and a 3-meter-high ceiling, making this room feel larger than its actual size.

It’s a very cozy room with beautiful wooden floorboards creating character, a seating space in front of the window, and enough room for a large dining table close to the kitchen.

A pink Murano glass chandelier is the right eye-catcher in the living room.

About Södermalm – Stockholm
Södermalm (or Söder in short) is an island just south of Stockholm’s Old Town (Gamla Stan). It has transformed from an impoverished area at the beginning of the 20th century into the most trendy neighborhood in Stockholm (and one of the coolest areas in the world, according to Vogue).
What to do: Södermalm is known for its cozy cafés, restaurants, and shops (including many vintage shops such as Beyond Retro and Grandpa). The island also offers beautiful views from the city. Walk up on Mariaberget or Skinnarviksberget and snap a picture of Sweden’s most beautiful city, or go for a swim at Långholmen.
Museums: Fotografiska Museum, Stockholm City Museum
You can take a guided 2-hour tour of Södermalm to fully immerse yourself in this trendy area. And if you’re interested in the brewery history, take a guided walk that includes a beer tasting at a secret location.
Where to stay: Stockholm Stadshotell, Hotel Frantz, NoFo Hotel

With an antique bench against the wall, the dining table can easily seat six people.

The bedroom is located in a calm northeastern position, and the color palette reflects that. Two shades of blue are used to decorate this room, leaving the moldings white, which makes them the real highlight.

The room is fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes along the long wall, painted in the same soft blue shade as the walls.

The bathroom is designed in a classic turn-of-the-century style, featuring green glossy subway tiles (the same as the backsplash tiles in the kitchen, creating harmony), a Victorian-style floor, and brass fittings.

The entry hall is open to the kitchen, creating a sense of space. Wall-mounted open cabinets with a hanging rod for coats provide plenty of storage.
The apartment is listed for sale at Alicia Edelman.
