Timeworn Original Floorboards in a Regency Seaside Home
We’re heading to the English seaside town of Ramsgate to tour this beautiful Regency townhouse with plenty of original features. The six-bedroom townhouse unfolds over five floors and features a carefully selected color and material palette.
There is a laid-back vibe to the interiors of this townhouse, which – in my opinion – suits a seaside home very well. The home has beautiful timeworn original floorboards, showing the house’s history as well as other original features like cast-iron fireplaces and sash windows.

The front door opens to the ground floor, where you will find an open-plan dining room and kitchen. With a rounded bay window in the dining room and a large sash window in the kitchen, the open layout turns this floor into a wonderfully bright space.
At the front, the owners created a dining room. The room features a stunning cast-iron fireplace with a marble surround flanked by built-in cupboards.
The kitchen features dark blue timber and stainless steel cabinets, along with a central Rangemaster range and a deep butler’s sink.
Typical for Regency houses, there is a second living room on the first floor. The room has tall glazed doors opening to the covered balcony and another marble-framed fireplace with decorative tiles.
On the upper floors are five bedrooms, two of which are painted in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Hague Blue.’ The master bedroom also features a pretty cast-iron fireplace.
There is a bathroom on each bedroom floor, one decorated with glossy blue subway tiles and a shower, and the other one has a bath.
The other bedrooms (one is used as a home office) are decorated in more neutral tones, similar to the living spaces. There is also a sixth bedroom with its own kitchen on the basement floor.
The house is listed for £735,000 at Inigo.
