A Warm Color Scheme in a Classic Turn-of-the-Century Apartment
In the chic Östermalm area in Stockholm stands a beautiful property from the late 19th century. And on the first floor of this building, you can find this beautiful apartment with classic details, a social open-plan living space, and two bedrooms.
High ceilings, stucco, large windows, and a herringbone parquet floor showcase the building’s history and add so much character to the living spaces. The wall between the kitchen and the living room has been removed, creating a social floor plan with a kitchen island, while the bedrooms are serene spaces where you can recharge and relax.

The large windows let in a lot of natural light into the living space (especially with the wall between the living room and the kitchen removed, creating three windows in a row). This is also enhanced with the warm yellow shade on the walls. Why not bring the sunshine indoors with a lick of paint 🙂

In the corner of the room stands a beautiful working fireplace that adds a warm atmosphere to the living room.

The sun-shaped candle holder is a design by Josef Frank.

The yellow hue on the wall strikes the perfect balance between neutral and colorful paint tones. The art and textiles add more vibrant tones to the living space.

From the living room, you can access a charming balcony facing the quiet courtyard.

The kitchen is designed in a classic style that harmonizes perfectly with the turn-of-the-century character.

Reddish-brown lower cabinets are paired with white upper cabinets, to keep it light. Classic white backsplash tiles and brass knobs complete the picture.

The apartment’s largest bedroom pairs classic style with practicality perfectly.

A large arched window lets in plenty of natural light while the striped wallpaper and red carpet bring warmth to the space.

It’s not a simple striped wallpaper on the walls. It has jagged edges and polka dot borders, adding depth to the bedroom.

Gray floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes offer plenty of storage space, while on the other wall, there is a nice area for a desk paired with a classic wishbone chair.

I love the dark-patterned curtain instead of a door in this apartment. It adds texture and warmth to the room.

The second bedroom is a wonderful, warm space with terracotta walls and a light carpet on the floor.

The rounded wall (from the communal staircase on the other side) is fitted with built-in shelves.

The inner hall leading to this second bedroom is fitted with built-in wardrobes.

The bathroom is stylish and practical with a walk-in shower, a sink with oak storage drawers, and gray-toned tilework.

The entrance hall sets the tone for the entire apartment with beautiful built-in storage and the same warm yellow shade on the walls as in the living room.

The apartment is listed for sale at Karla Fastighetsmäkleri.
