Warm, Layered Interiors in a 1920s Los Feliz Mediterranean-Style Villa
Set in the hills of Los Feliz, this 1920s Mediterranean villa was already renovated to pristine condition. The house, private and gated, is considered one of the finest in the neighborhood.
But the owners, a well-known actress and her husband, an Emmy-nominated music producer, wanted something more personal. They envisioned a home that honored its European architectural roots while embracing a more intimate, expressive way of living and entertaining.
They turned to Tifffany howell of Night Palm to create a home inspired by poetry and nostalgia. Every detail feels gently sun-faded, as though it has lived a long, beautiful life somewhere between California and a 1970s European palazzo.
Rather than competing with the home’s Spanish-style bones, the design is used to soften them, introducing an old-world palette, tactile finishes, and a sense of quiet drama from room to room.

At the heart of the home, the living room opens toward sweeping mountain views, anchoring the entire space in natural beauty. The room is designed for social gatherings and quiet evenings at home with worn textures and layered tones.

The custom bar, featuring built-in seating and shelving and floral wallpaper, is made for entertaining. It is positioned to overlook the shimmering pool and the distant skyline of downtown Los Angeles.

The chef’s kitchen balances practicality with warmth. The brick floor (laid in a chevron pattern) and patterned backsplash tiles match the Spanish building style beautifully, while the large island and wooden wall adds a modern touch.

A stunning picture window above the sink overlooks the garden.

Upstairs, the primary suite is decorated in an earthy palette, creating a calm atmosphere. The room includes a seating area, a spacious sleeping corner, and an en-suite bathroom.

The bathroom is magnificent with a touch of romance. Plaster pink walls create a sense of calm, which is paired with a classic freestanding bath, and a deep pink vanity cabinet topped with luxurious marble.

Outside, lush landscaping encloses the estate, creating a sanctuary that feels miles away from the city.
