Soft Color Tones in a Renovated Turn-of-the-Century Apartment
On the top floor of a turn-of-the-century apartment building in Stockholm lies this charming apartment decorated with a soft color palette. The 83 square meter apartment features a social kitchen with forest green cabinets and three rooms in a row facing the street that are used as a living room and the bedrooms.
In recent years, the historic apartment was completely renovated, adding a new kitchen and bathroom and painting all the surfaces in a harmonious color palette. The latest additions pair beautifully with original elements like stucco, ceiling rosettes, skirting boards, and mirrored doors.

The apartment has a large and social kitchen with a dining table, so the living room is used only for lounging. The walls are painted in a muted pink shade, highlighting the period features like stucco and the high skirting boards.

The kitchen is the heart of the home, featuring new cabinets and a large dining table for socializing and dining. The kitchen also gives access to the apartment’s balcony, so in the summertime, you can sit outdoors.

The lower cabinets are from Marbodal. They are painted a lovely forest green and topped with a solid oak countertop. White subway tiles are used as a backsplash, topped with a knob rail also made of oak, matching the countertop.

Reclaimed display cabinets with mouth-blown glass are used as the upper cabinets.

There is a charming balcony off the kitchen, and thanks to the apartment’s high location, you have views of the sky.

The apartment has three rooms in a row. From the living room, you can access the bedrooms, but those rooms can also be accessed via the hall.

The middle room is used as a children’s bedroom, painted in a soft gray-green hue. The room makes the most of the apartment’s high ceilings by adding a loft area.

The largest bedroom is situated in the room with a large rounded bay window. The walls are decorated with the ‘Dancing Cranes’ wallpaper design by Emma von Brömssen.

The period features and beautiful wallpaper already give the room a charming look which is enhanced by the working fireplace in the corner.

The room also features a spacious built-in wardrobe with shelves and clothes rails.

The renovated powder room is designed in a style that suits the building period of the apartment. It features a corner sink in turn-of-the-century style from Burlington and the walls are decorated with the ‘Golden Lily’ wallpaper by William Morris.
