A Blue and Pink Studio Apartment with a Large Balcony

This small pink and blue studio apartment is located on the top floor of a 1930s building in Stockholm. The apartment has a floor plan of only 19 square meters, but the six-meter wide balcony more than makes up for the lack of interior space.

The studio apartment was recently renovated, pairing period features like high ceilings, herringbone parquet flooring, barred windows, a ceiling rose with a pink and blue color scheme, and a new teeny-tiny kitchen.

Even though the apartment is teeny tiny, the high ceilings and glass doors leading to the balcony makes it feel big enough.

In the main room, the original herringbone parquet floor is painted with a soft blue shade on the walls (Jotun’s “Nordic Breeze”) and pink accents in the sofa, curtains, and pendant light. The door on the left leads to a built-in wardrobe, so there is no need to clutter up the main room with large, bulky furniture.

The room has a perfect layout with a seating area on one side of the balcony doors, room for a double bed on the other side, and space for a small dining table in the center.

The herringbone parquet floor was recently sanded and oiled.

With an outdoor space like this, living in a studio apartment doesn’t look so bad. Thanks to the high position, you get a wonderful sense of space, and there is more than enough room for a table and a seating area.

The kitchen is teeny tiny but practical. It was recently renovated using IKEA cabinets and doors in the same beige shade as the cabinets in the hall. The countertop is treated with microcement in the shade Sandvit, and the walls are painted in Jotun’s “Mild”.

The hall is pretty spacious for such a small apartment. The walls are painted in Jotun’s “Mild” (just as the kitchen walls), and it features original elements like the wooden floor and the hat rack.
