A Stunning Kitchen in a Classic Renovated Turn-of-the-Century Apartment
In the last three years, this turn-of-the-century apartment in Gothenburg was fully renovated, creating a social floor plan with spacious rooms, classic design elements, and beautiful period features.
The owners changed the floor plan of the apartment, creating a spacious site-built kitchen in one of the living rooms, opening up the old entrance and creating a spacious hall. In additions, they wanted to return the early 20th-century character of the home so they added new herringbone parquet floors, new stucco and baseboards, and three newly renovated French double doors.

The new kitchen has become the heart of the home. The shaker-style kitchen was built on site by Norrland Snek. The cabinets were brushed painted on the outside and brown stained on the inside.

The shaker-style cabinets are topped with a quartzite Desert Wave stone countertop from Kungälv Natursten, and paired with untreated brass knobs and handles.

The large dining table turns the kitchen space into a welcoming social room. The large window offers unobstructed views of the city.

The living room is situated in line with the kitchen, and with the wooden doors opened, you can create a beautiful social layout.

The living room is bathed in light thanks to two large windows. The walls, painted in a muted gray tone by Jotun, make the stucco and baseboards stand out wonderfully.

The apartment has two bedrooms facing the courtyard. The master bedroom is painted in a deep gray color with a brown undertone, adding an earthy calm to the room. From the master bedroom, you can also access the apartment’s balcony.

The entire apartment is fitted with custom storage solutions, and in the master bedroom, one wall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes.

The second bedroom used to be the kitchen. The previous owner removed some of the plasterwork to reveal the exposed brickwork, which gives this bedroom a unique look. The room also has a rounded wall due to the fact that it’s located next to the central stairwell.

This bedroom is also fitted with built-in wardrobes and in the corner stands a beautiful antique wooden desk.

The long hall connects all the rooms in the apartment. The entry hall is decorated with the William Morris Honeysuckle and Tulip wallpaper and a limestone floors which flows into the herringbone parquet floor you will find in the rest of the apartment.

The apartment is listed for sale at Alvhem
