A Renovated Duplex Apartment with a Roof Terrace
The top two floors of a 1920s apartment building in Gothenburg have been carefully renovated, creating a home where modern amenities pair seamlessly with the historic bones.
The attic floor has been turned into a wonderful living space, featuring exposed beams and exposed brickwork that showcase the history of the building. Glass doors open to a nice and private roof terrace overlooking the communal courtyard. This floor also features a bedroom and a bathroom.
The lower floor houses the kitchen, dining room, two additional bedrooms, a bathroom, and a utility room. The home is wonderfully bright and well-maintained, creating spacious and social rooms.

The top floor is a magnificent space with an open four-meter-high ceiling showcasing dark wooden beams.

With skylights on one side and glass terrace doors on the other, the attic room is wonderfully bright, letting natural light flow through the space.

In addition to the exposed beams, the room also features exposed brickwork where the fireplace used to be, and the bedroom on this floor features an entire brick wall.

The sitting area is centered around a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere in the evening.

Glass doors open onto the beautiful roof terrace, which gets sunlight all day. The spacious outdoor space features cozy lighting and lounge furniture.

With the wood-burning fireplace lit and the last rays of the setting sun, the living room becomes a cozy haven.

Double doors in the living room open up to the top floor bedroom with an exposed brick feature walls and soft pastel color accents.

The top floor bathroom was recently renovated, featuring dark tilework, a corner bath, and a separate shower.

The original wooden staircase leads you down to the lower floor.

The lower floor features a beautiful multifunctional room with chest panels and a working tiled fireplace. The room is now used as a dining room, but it is big enough for a dining table and a seating area.

The tastefully renovated kitchen from Ballingslöv pairs timeless elegance with modern functionality. Dark gray cabinet doors are paired with white square tiles and a Silestone countertop.

The kitchen isn’t big, so it’s nice that one side has been fitted with wooden shelves instead of cabinets, ensuring storage space without making the kitchen feel smaller.

The space under the large window is perfect for a small kitchen table. In the corner, you can see the original built-in pantry.

The stylish fan is from Fjäråskupan.

There are two bedrooms on the lower floor. Both are decorated in a light color scheme. The largest room features a wardrobe wall hidden from view by curtains.

The smaller bedroom is now a charming children’s room with two wardrobes and a small, angled space that serves as a desk area.

The lower floor is completed with a small shower room and a separate laundry space.
