A Stylish Light-Colored Apartment with a Rental Part in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan
On the first floor of a historic building in Stockholm’s Old Town lies a fantastic two-bedroom apartment where period features and stylish modern design come together in a beautiful home.
The apartment is decorated in a light, neutral color scheme, making the period features such as the high ceilings, original fireplaces, and stucco stand out beautifully.
The 115-square-meter apartment is currently divided into a one-bedroom home with a separate rental area, featuring its own kitchen and bathroom.

Four years ago, a new kitchen was added to the historic apartment. The Nordiska Kök kitchen features an island with bar seating and a combination of walnut and white cabinetry. The original tiled fireplace is a nice reminder of the apartment’s age.

Two flowerpot pendants from &tradition hang above the kitchen island.

From the kitchen, you move into the living room, which is located at the corner of the apartment building, with windows in two directions offering views of the narrow cobbled streets in Gamla Stan (the Old Town).

Thanks to the huge windows, the room is wonderfully light, enhanced by the light-colored walls. The herringbone parquet floor, stucco, and tiled fireplace with blue accents add a historic touch to the space.

From the living room, you move into the bedroom suite. The walls are painted in a light, neutral hue, and the space around and under the window has been fitted with custom-built-in cabinets.

Another tiled fireplace stands in the corner of the bedroom, adding a historic touch.

The light-colored bathroom features a wall of mirror cabinets on one side, and a mirror medicine cabinet above the sink, adding a lot of storage and making the room feel larger.

The apartment has a rental part which is divided into a room, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and built-in wardrobes.

The white kitchen is situated on the other side of the bed. This can easily be transformed into a wardrobe wall.

The guest toilet is painted in a warm terracotta shade, the only darker hue in the apartment.

A couple of years ago, the hall was rebuilt, with two entrances from the stairwell; one to the main apartment and one to the rental home. This is the hall leading to the main apartment, featuring built-in cabinets under the deep window sill and a large mirror.

The apartment is listed for sale at Hildingsson & Partners.
