Period Details and Soft Colors in a Grand Early 20th-Century Apartment
On the top floor of a grand Art Nouveau building in Stockholm lies this fantastic two-bedroom apartment where period detailing is combined with comfortable modern living.
You are welcomed by 3.4-meter-high ceilings and large windows that make the rooms feel grand and light. This lightness is accentuated by the light and warm color scheme in the living spaces.
The apartment was fully renovated a couple of years ago, preserving beautiful original details such as continuous wooden floors, stucco, mirrored doors and wall panels, deep window niches, and a serving cabinet, while also bringing the interiors into the 21st century with renovated bathrooms, updated finishes, and new electrical wiring.

Double mirror doors open to a beautiful living room with two large windows (modern triple-glazed windows that block out noise) overlooking the rooftops of the surrounding buildings.

Beautiful original details, such as ceiling stucco, chest paneling, and wooden floors, coexist with a fire-resistant corner fireplace with a marble hearth

The room is decorated in a warm and light palette with natural materials, textured seating, and a large rug that adds softness to the space.

The living room is connected to the central hall and an inner hall with a bathroom.

The lovely kitchen, facing the courtyard, is designed in a timeless style, featuring IKEA frames, painted doors, and solid ash worktops.

Cabinets flow into a built-in bench, creating a cozy breakfast nook in front of the courtyard window, which features a soft-green painted window frame.

Green flowerpot pendants from &tradition hang above the kitchen countertop.

The old door leading to one of the bedrooms has been preserved.

The serving hall next to the living room gives access to the master bedroom. The room is painted a soft blue, paired with pink textiles.

Beautiful vintage Murano glass wall sconces hang next to the bed.

The bedroom opens up to a charming balcony overlooking the courtyard.

Built-in wardrobes, painted in the same blue hue as the walls, were added to the bedroom in 2024.

In the corner of the room stands a beautiful original tiled fireplace with pastel-colored floral decorations and a mirror.

A smart built-in home office is fitted on the other wall.

The smaller bedroom is located next to the kitchen. The light room is decorated with the clover wallpaper from Svenskt Tenn.

The serving hall between the living room and the master bedroom, runs from the kitchen toward the bathroom.

The bathroom was renovated in 2021. The walls are covered with white tiles, and the floor is made of limestone from the Baltic Sea.

The main hall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes, including a cabinet with a washing machine.

The guest toilet is designed in a classic style, with a red-and-white checkered floor and beige wall tiles.
