A Characteristic 17th-Century Home in Amsterdam
I love it when I come across a pearl of a home full of character and historic elements. Today I found such a home which of course I’m sharing with you. In a typical narrow pedestrian street in Amsterdam you’ll find this beautiful 17th-century home.
The home consists of a ‘front home’ of 6 levels and a ‘back house’ of 4 levels and it’s beautifully restored leading to a luxurious but super cozy home where the history of the home is visible in every room.
The home is decorated in lots of neutral colors which makes sense to me because there are so many historic architectural features visible (such as the original 17-century floor(!!), exposed brick walls and exposed beams).
There’s no garden but they did create an indoor terrace which also includes the skylights that bring light in the darker back house. To top it all of there’s even a seperate apartment on the top floor. I love it when old homes are so well cared for and preserved for future generations!
