A Light Corner Apartment with 1890s Period Features
This beautiful corner apartment is located in one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm’s Södermalm area. The complex was built in the 1730s however the majority of the interiors period features date from the late 1890s.
Thanks to its corner position, this 76 square meter apartment has views in three direction as well as period features like wall panels, double doors, stucco, door tops, window panels, ceiling rosettes, and three tiled fireplaces. The dining room is located in the center of the apartment with the kitchen on one side and the living room on the other side.
The dining room is a pleasant space with two large windows, a built in cabinet, and an open conection to the hallway, adding a sense of space.
One wall is fitted with a gallery wall, while the other wall features a traditional fireplace.
Above the dining table hangs an impressive vintage Italian Murano chandelier.
The apartment has a small kitchen with windows on two sides, exposed brick walls, and a the pine floorboards are painted in a classic checkerboard pattern. The kitchen cabinets and window frames are painted in a calm gray-green shade from Jotun.
On the other side of the dining room lies the small but pleasant living room with plenty of period details and a light color scheme complemented by a blue sofa.
Double wooden doors separate the bedroom from the living room.
The apartment’s only bedroom faces the quiet courtyard. The walls are painted in a light green-gray color, adding a calm vibe to the space.
The bed is flanked by two floor to ceiling wardrobes with porcelain knobs from Kvänum.
The entry to the apartment is wonderfully bright thanks to the large window. The hall features a built in wardrobe and bookshelves for plenty of storage space.
