A Vintage Style Apartment in Stockholm
In one of the oldest buildings in the Södermalm area of Stockholm lies this lovely two-bedroom apartment. The charming home is decorated in a vintage style with soft colors, vintage furnishings, and plenty of books.
The 60 square meter apartment combines modern comfort with old-fashioned charm. The home features the original large windows in deep niches with mirror panels; these windows flood the room with light and add a historic charm to the rooms.
The owners created extra storage space in the home by building a wooden box in the living room with wardrobes. Adding this storage solution may make the living room smaller, but it also means that the rooms aren’t packed with bulky cabinets.
The wooden storage room sits in the center of the living room. An arched doorway with a warm pink curtain hides what’s inside, and the curtain adds a nice texture to the room.
The muted pink walls in the living room are paired with pastel-colored furniture. I love the calm color scheme in this vintage-inspired home.
The open-plan living space also features a white kitchen. The antique kitchen island is a natural divider between the sitting area and the kitchen.
The master bedroom is painted in a pale Art Nouveau shade of green.
The smallest bedroom is painted in a warm ochre shade.
The owners made the most of the high ceilings by adding a pink-painted bunk bed.
