An Early 20th Century Apartment with a Muted Green Kitchen
On the first floor of an early 20th-century apartment building in Stockholm lies this charming apartment with original elements and contemporary amenities. The 90 square meter apartment has a charming layout with a large open-plan living space and three bedrooms.
The apartment features a number of well-preserved original details, from solid wooden mirror doors with preserved locks and keys to herringbone parquet, ceiling rosettes, serving cabinets, and barred windows with espagnolettes and deep marble window sills.

The apartment has a lovely L-shaped living space with the kitchen and the dining area in line, and a cozy niche that is now used as a television room.
The kitchen was renovated a couple of years ago. Dull green cabinets from IKEA are paired with thick concrete countertops and white backsplash tiles that match the white-painted wooden floorboards.
Large original windows flood the living space with natural light. It is a wonderful room for socializing with the island as the natural divider between the cooking area and the dining/living space.
There is plenty of room for a large dining table. This larger space is also perfect as a sitting room, and the niche can be used as the dining area.
The current owners use the niche as a cozy television room with a large pink sofa.
Originally, the apartment had two bedrooms, but one has been transformed into two smaller rooms. The smallest bedroom can be accessed via the living space and is now used as a cozy home office with a wooden desk and shelves fitted along one wall.
The largest bedroom is painted in a fresh blue shade with a white border, accentuating the high ceilings.
The spacious room has wardrobes along one wall, and there is also an original built-in wardrobe.
The third bedroom is now used as a shared children’s room with two beds along one wall. The walls are decorated with an elegant blue floral wallpaper.
The bathroom was renovated a couple of years ago, using the same gray tiles for the walls and the floor. There is also a small cabinet from Ballingslöv and black fittings for a stylish, contemporary look.
Entry to the apartment is via this smart hall with a niche for shoes and coats right by the door and double built-in wardrobes for even more storage space.
