An Eclectic Victorian Townhouse in London
Are you on Instagram? If you are, then it’s very possible that you have seen this amazing eclectic townhouse in London. The house is owned by Alice and Rhys, who have shared the renovation project of this home on their Instagram page @strikeme_pink. And now, they have decided to leave London and put their beautifully renovated home up for sale.
The Victorian house in South London has undergone a thorough renovation, transforming it from boring and outdated to a maximalist dream space filled with color, unique design, and bold statements.
Dark gray and green are the main colors in this historic home. In the living room, they decided to paint the ceiling with the lovely cornicing in a moody gray shade. The room is centered around the beautiful ornate fireplace.
In historic homes, you sometimes find rooms where every wall is painted or papered with a landscape. In this home, they have created a similar look with the Jungle Land wallpaper from Rebel Walls that is added to all walls in the living room.
Despite the gray tones in the wallpaper and the ceiling, the room feels warm thanks to the original wooden floorboards, the wooden furniture, and the light brown Harriet sofa from Arlo & Jacob.
The unique kitchen is made from plywood with goldleaf worktops. The shelves above the worktops are from IKEA and they are paired with deVOL brass rails.
The kitchen dining nook features a fabulous corner bench with blue velvet upholstery. The wall paneling is painted in Greige 02 by Lick and the wallpaper is called ‘Limerence’ from House of Hackney.
The beaded chandelier is from Rockett St George and the walls are painted in ‘Grey 08’ from Lick.
The dramatic hallway sets the tone for the rest of the house, where classic elements and bold choices are effortlessly paired together. On the floor lie the Florence Grand Black & White Marble Chessboard tiles from Your Tiles.
The master bedroom also features the signature dark gray ceiling that is visible in the rest of the house. The room is decorated with the ‘Chameleon Trai’ wallpaper from Josephine Munsey.
The ceiling in its bedroom is painted in ‘After Dinner’, and the floorboards and woodwork are painted in ‘Cocoa’ by Rust-Oleum.
The home office is painted in a dark green shade called ‘Teal 03’ from Lick. It is paired with simple IKEA Alex desk setup.
The bathroom is heaven with a clawfoot bath, a vintage vanity, beautiful green tiles from Porcelain Superstore in the shower, and a painted ceiling.
