An English House with Carefully Restored Period Features
Located near the English coast in Ramsgate, this lovely four-bedroom Victorian house has been carefully restored by its current owners. The owners (a creative couple from the design and interior industries) carefully considered every detail, from the neutral interior palette using organic, earthy tones and textures to enlisting local craftsmen to restore period features like the cornicing, woodwork, and fireplaces.
The Bauwerk limewash paint in the living room and master bedroom adds a soft atmosphere to these rooms, and this light hue makes the period features stand out wonderfully. The entire home feels comfortable, soft, and inviting thanks to the clear design aesthetic of its owners.
The living room has high ceilings, bay windows with shutters, and natural plaster finishes complemented by parquet oak flooring. In the living room and the adjacent dining room, two black Abigail Ahern pendants hang from the ceiling.
The pink marble fireplace is the eye-catcher of the living room which is flanked by built in bookshelves and cabinets.
The back room is now a dining room with the same limewash walls, built-in cabinets, and log storage.
The kitchen also has a calm color palette with its sag green cabinets that are paired with brass fittings, and a Siena Gold Quatz worktop.
Next to the kitchen lies a second family room with a built-in bench with green upholstery, a fluted feature wall, and a square window offering views of the garden.
The high-ceilinged hallway has been carefully restored, showcasing original features like an ornate chandelier and a large sunflower ceiling rosette.
The master bedroom has Bauwerk limewash walls, painted floorboards, and a beautiful marble fireplace.
The children’s bedroom is decorated is soft green tones with the House of Hackney ‘Babylon’ wallpaper.
The bathroom is a very bright room, thanks to the skylights in the slanted ceiling. It features a freestanding bath and a separate shower, and plants add a lively touch to the room.
The house was listed for sale at Aucoot.
