A Scandinavian Apartment with a Warm Living Room and Rounded Walls
This charming turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden has some lovely features. It showcases period features from when the apartment was built in 1903, like a working tiled stove, stucco, ceiling rosettes, and high baseboards. And the apartment also has rounded walls, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, that add a unique look to the rooms.
The 61 square meter apartment has high ceilings and large windows, making the rooms feel light and airy. The classic base of wooden floors and period details are paired with a beautiful, warm color scheme of terracotta, yellow, green, and light pink.
The apartment is styled by the talented design trio JosefssonLjung, who often style Swedish homes that are put on the market. In this home, they pair the classic architecture of the building with midcentury and modern furniture and home accessories for a unique and cozy home.
I love the warm orange-pink color that they have put on the living room walls. It’s a shade you don’t often see but it creates such an inviting atmosphere to the room.
The walls are painted in Auro’s “Arizona Sunset”.
I love the blend of modern and midcentury pieces in the living room. The large rug ties the room together.
Two high windows in the west fill the spacious and lightly furnished living room with light.
The living room also has a working tile fireplace which creates an extra cozy feeling in the colder months.
The kitchen is simple with white cabinets and a porcelain butler sink. The backsplash is made from tiles sourced in Marrakech.
The kitchen walls are painted in Auro’s “Yellow Gold”.
The bedroom has modern wardrobes, painted in a soothing green shade. The walls are painted in Auro’s ecological wall colors “Warm White” and “Slight Rose”.
The bedroom is situated in one of the building’s characteristic corner towers, and the rounded outer wall is a very characteristic feature.
The bedroom also gives access to a cozy balcony with a small bistro table and plants.
The hallway floor has b just been painted in a red and white English checker pattern. The walls are painted in Little Greene’s “Aquamarine”.
