A Beautiful Color Palette in a Scandinavian Family Apartment
I love the use of color in a home, and in this Swedish apartment, they added vibrant color pops in the kitchen and living room and a unique color scheme in the master bedroom, creating a beautiful and cheerful family home.
The apartment has undergone meticulous renovation, seamlessly blending preserved features from the turn of the last century with contemporary upgrades, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, to offer modern functionality. Throughout the home, a thoughtfully curated color palette enhances harmony and creates an aesthetically pleasing ambiance.
With windows on two sides, the walk-through layout ensures abundant natural light in every room, while its secluded courtyard location adds to the tranquility. Adorned with two well-preserved traditional Swedish fireplaces and beautiful wooden floors, the space exudes elegance and charm. It’s a tasteful fusion where the present gracefully embraces the past.
Exposed wooden beams serve as a raw separation between the living room and kitchen, a lovely touch of history in the open-plan living spaces.
The social kitchen is a cozy space with a dining table in the center and cabinets painted in light gray-green (‘mistletoe’ by Becker) and soft pink (‘blushing peach’ by Jotun).
The owners made optimal use of the ceiling height by adding a double row of glass-fronted upper cabinets.
The combination of a solid oak worktop and white half-jointed tiles all the way up to the ceiling is classic and stylish.
From the kitchen, you move into the living room, which is a charming space with light gray walls, a gallery wall, and a fireplace in the corner.
The pink curtains and yellow textiles add color and warmth to the otherwise neutral space.
The walls in the living room are painted in ‘seashell’ by Becker.
The built-in storage in the hallway is painted in Becker’s shade “steel grey”, which contrasts harmoniously with the light walls in Becker’s shade “seashell”.
The master bedroom is painted in an exciting color combination of terracotta pink and dark blue.
The wood panels are painted in Becker’s “dark teal” which are paired with the beautiful maroon shade called Becker’s “rooibos”.
The second bedroom can be accessed through the living room. It is now a charming children’s room painted in Jotun’s ‘linblĂ„/linen blue.’
