An Attic Apartment in Oslo with Exposed Wooden Beams
This newly designed attic apartment with exposed wooden beams and slanted ceilings is on the top floor of a classic apartment block in Oslo. It was designed in collaboration between property developer Sequoia and the interior design firm Alex Ark, who seamlessly blend historic character with modern Scandinavian design.
For the design of the loft-style apartment, they used high-quality materials and a carefully selected color palette that turned this attic space into a luxurious and calm home. The exposed beams give the rooms a lot of character and showcase the history of the building. The wooden beams and modern furniture add a nice contrast to the home.
The floorplan of the apartment is 60 square meters, but the high-pitched ceilings add a sense of space to the rooms. The carefully placed skylights bring natural light to the attic space.
The open-plan living space has plenty of room for a sitting area, a dining table, and a cooking area. The wooden beams make this room extra special.
Modern Scandinavian design beautifully contrast the wooden beams.
The building’s construction has been used to establish a small “reading nook” with spot lights.
The modern kitchen is a design by Kvik and features muted gray cabinets and no upper cabinets to remain an open feeling.
The large bathroom has a walk-in shower, a wooden vanity with a copper wash basin, and a large lighted mirror.
The exclusive shower wall is from Iconic Nordic Rooms.
