Blue Bespoke Joinery and a Light Pink Kitchen in a Reimagined Victorian Home
Tucked into the quiet charm of Walthamstow Village, this four-bedroom home unfolds as a carefully orchestrated sequence of spaces, where thoughtful design meets the rhythms of everyday living.
Reimagined by Shacklewell Architects with interiors by Camilla Fernandez, the house has been transformed into a calm, cohesive sanctuary, one that balances elegance with practicality at every turn.

The traditional double reception room has been reinterpreted as a single, generous living space. Here, bespoke joinery wraps the walls, creating a library-like setting that feels both intimate and expansive.

Ornate cornicing traces the ceiling above, while a Chesney log burner, framed in marble, anchors the room with warmth and character.

The built-in bookcases and skirting boards are painted in 2 AM by Coat Paints.

Duck-egg blue panelling lines the hallway, while tumbled Rosso and Calacatta marble tiles form a chequered path underfoot.

The back of the house has been extended, creating a light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area.

Soft pink Shaker-style cabinetry is paired with sleek quartz worktops, while a double butler sink and Perrin & Rowe unlacquered brass tap add a touch of quiet luxury.

At the centre, a generous island houses an induction hob with an integrated extractor, doubling as a social hub with space for bar seating.

A cleverly concealed pantry keeps appliances and provisions neatly out of sight.

Overhead, pitched skylights draw in shifting southern light throughout the day, while wide sliding glass doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out.

The dedicated dining area and relaxed seating zone create an easy, sociable atmosphere designed for both family life and entertaining.

The garden has been thoughtfully arranged to mirror the home’s balance of form and function. A paved terrace offers space for outdoor dining, while a lawn is framed by planters filled with evergreens and mature trees.
A separate barbecue area completes the setting, creating a versatile outdoor space that feels both structured and relaxed.

Two former front bedrooms have been combined to form a spacious principal suite, finished in a calming soft blue palette.

Built-in wardrobes line one wall, while the adjoining bathroom, accessible from both the bedroom and landing, offers a sense of quiet indulgence.

The bathroom is wrapped in marble tiling, with a classic checkerboard pattern on the floor. It is complemented by a roll-top bath and a separate walk-in shower.

At the back of the plan lies a charming children’s room with light blue paneling and striped wallpaper.

A utility room, featuring the same light pink cabinetry as in the kitchen, is nicely tucked in the first floor plan.

A loft extension added in 2023 introduces two further bedrooms and a shared shower room, all illuminated by large skylights that draw daylight deep into the space.

The nursery is decorated with the 101 Dalmatians wallpaper designed by Sanderson in collaboration with Disney.

The second bedroom on this floor is a serene space with a carpeted floor and gray-green paneling.

The serene atmosphere continues into the bathroom, where marble herringbone tiles on the floor are paired with narrow blue tiles on the walls and wood paneling.

The London stock brick façade has been meticulously restored, with crisp repointing, original sash windows, and Victorian tiling lending a sense of heritage. A deep burgundy front door provides a rich, welcoming contrast.

The house is listed for £1,300,000 at Aucoot.
