Charming Vintage Country Style in a Family Apartment in Sweden
In the heart of the Majorna area in the Swedish city of Gothenburg stands this charming family apartment divided over two floors. The apartment features many period details from 1906, such as wooden floors, profiled moldings, ceiling rosettes, and stucco. The current owners have tastefully renovated the apartment; they wanted to recreate the feeling of the early 20th century, and they certainly succeeded in doing that.
The 127-square-meter apartment has windows in three directions and a generous ceiling height, creating a light and airy atmosphere. With four bedrooms, the home is perfect for a family. It is decorated with a slight country home vibe, with wood-paneled walls, pastel colors, wallpaper, and vintage decor.

The living room is a wonderfully bright room with large windows, an original wooden floor that is painted white, and a working original fireplace in the corner.
The walls in the living room are decorated with the ‘Honeysuckle’ wallpaper by William Morris. A reclaimed wooden door has been added to create a vintage feel.
Next to the kitchen lies a spacious dining room with the original wooden floor and walls painted in a light gray shade.
The apartment features a charming kitchen, including the preserved original pantry and serving cabinet.
The walls have pearl rafters, and the wallpaper matches a design from the time the house was built. Beautiful green tiles from Byggfabriken are used as the splashback.
The powder room was renovated a couple of years ago into a vintage style with butter-yellow paneled walls and sinks, taps, and lighting from Sekelskifte byggnardsvårdbutik.
There is a shared children’s bedroom with one side decorated in yellow tones with a yellow floral wallpaper and butter yellow wall panels.
The other half of the children’s bedroom is decorated with the ‘Fågelblå’ wallpaper from Lim & Handtryck.
The bathroom was completely renovated in a vintage style with classic white tiles, Victorian floor tiles, and butter yellow walls.
