A Charming Two-Bedroom Corner Apartment in a 1940s Building
On a corner position in a 1940s building in Stockholm lies this charming Scandinavian apartment with two bedrooms and a circular floor plan. The apartment is decorated in a color palette of beige, gray, and green tones, creating calm and inviting spaces.
The apartment has a unique floor plan. You can enter the living room, kitchen, and bathroom from the hall. The two bedrooms lie beside each other, with a door between them. One bedroom can also be accessed from the kitchen, and the other from the living room.
The living room is an inviting space centered around a brick fireplace. The walls are painted in a light gray hue, and on the floor lies the original checkered oak parquet.
One wall is fitted with simple bookshelves (even above the door), and the wall lamp, arching over the sofa, is from Valerie Objects.
Attached to the living room is a south-facing balcony.
The apartment has a large and light kitchen with two big windows and walls painted in a gray shade. There is plenty of room for a large dinner table, especially if you place the table by the wall with a bench instead of chairs.
Above the table hangs the Wooden Octo pendant from Secto Design.
The kitchen cabinets were recently painted in a calm gray-beige shade, paired with a classic wooden countertop, and white tiles.
The floor plan between the kitchen and hall is open, ensuring the hall also gets natural light from the two kitchen windows. The large mirror is strategically placed opposite a window. The hall is also fitted with large wardrobes with sliding mirror doors.
Next to the kitchen lies the master bedroom that is painted in a calm sage green hue and features a custom floor to ceiling headboard made of wooden slats.
The headboard is a nice warm element to the green space.
Next to the wardrobes (painted in the same color as the walls to make them blend in), the owners created a small home office made from a simple wooden tabletop and two shelves, also painted in the same color as the walls.
The second bedroom is a charming children’s room with off-white walls and the original parquet floor.
One wall is fitted with large wardrobes with leather handles.
Even though the entire apartment is painted in light colors, the hall is the exception. The entry to the home is bold, with a deep blue shade on the walls. The entry is decorated with patterned floor tiles and simple wooden hooks for coats. Wooden cabinets have been placed under the mirror for more storage space.
