Color, Patterns, and Classic Elements in a Maximalist London Apartment
Behind a terraced house’s classic white stucco facade on an elegant street in London’s Bayswater, you will find a home brimming with character, thanks to the beautiful period features paired with a maximalist interior palette.
The two-bedroom apartment is a design collaboration between interior specialist Pandora Taylor and textile artist Susi Bellamy, who transformed this classic 719-square-foot apartment into a bold Italianate-inspired home packed with color and patterns.

At the front of the plan, you find the living room that feels grand and spacious thanks to high ceilings and soaring sash windows overlooking the leafy square.

The room is vibrant and inviting, with mint-green walls, delicate pink textiles, and statement furniture. The sofa is upholstered in the Blue Rose Marbled Velvet fabric by Susi Bellamy.

On the other side of the room, a scalloped rug (matching the scallop pattern around the doorframe) defines the dining area where a wooden table is paired with red Chippendale chairs.

The pink and red scallop pattern around the doorframe welcomes you into the kitchen.

The kitchen pairs peach-blossom cabinets with rose-gold details and a deep-green quartzite worktop. A fluted butler sink and a black-and-white checkerboard floor add a classic element to the space, while the Dahlia Plumes Velvet curtain adds texture.

The master bedroom is decorated in a warm palette with soft, golden walls, layered with patterned textiles and antique dark-wood furniture.

The maximalist palette continues into the en-suite bathroom, where that golden hue returns in the paneling behind the toilet, paired with marble floor tiles, a statement wallpaper (Yellow Stripy Rose by Susi Bellamy), and a walk-in shower.

The hall is fitted with the same checkerboard floor as the kitchen, paired with swirling marbled wallpaper (Dahlia Plumes by Susi Bellamy). The pink hue from the wallpaper returns in the doorframe leading to the apartment’s second bedroom.

The guest bedroom is a playful, creative abode with an integrated sleeping nook framed by scalloped joinery, pairing practicality with whimsy. The green and pink curtain, made from the Sage Marble Velvet fabric) hides a built-in wardrobe.

The family bathroom is decorated with a brighter, more playful palette, featuring candy-toned tiles and pink walls. It features a freestanding bath and a blue sink cabinet.

The apartment is listed for sale at Domus Nova.
