A Colorful 1920s Family Apartment in Sweden
This charming two-bedroom Scandinavian apartment is the result of the merger of two smaller apartments in the 1980s. In recent years, the 1920s apartment has been renovated, moving the kitchen next to the living room to create a social floor plan.
Some turn-of-the-century elements like original joinery, mirrored doors, and beautiful wooden floors have been preserved, and they pair nicely with the contemporary additions.
The apartment is painted in a nice color palette of terracotta, blue, pink, and green tones, creating a vibrant and inviting family home.

The living room is a wonderful, light space with two large windows in deep window niches. The walls are recently painted in a warm terracotta shade (paint code: NCS S 3030-Y60R)

The warm terracotta shade on the walls are paired with a green sofa and a green CO Bankeryd pendant light.

Double doors separate the living room and the kitchen. It enables the creation of two private spaces as well as one big social living space.

The kitchen is stylish, timeless, and spacious, with space for a large dining table.

The kitchen was built on site by Kålltorpskök and paired wood and white cabinets with a Jura limestone countertop.

The walls are painted in a light tone (paint code: NCS S 0502-Y), with extra dirt-repellent paint above the sink to keep the surface easy to clean.

Two large windows flood the room with natural light. A sculptural Nemo Ellisse chandelier hangs above the dining table.

A previously unused part of the hall has been transformed into a functional and stylish home office. There is plenty of storage in the form of cabinets and shelves, and the desk is made of ash.

The master bedroom is painted in a light green-blue shade, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere in combination with the wooden floorboards. The window overlooks the green courtyard for a peaceful atmosphere.
The bedrooms used to be the kitchens of the two separate apartments. Both rooms have an original pantry in the corner of the room.

A spacious walk-in wardrobe lies just off the master bedroom.

The second bedroom is used as a children’s room, decorated in a mixture of blue tones. It features light blue walls in Alcro NCS S 3020-R90B and a contrasting dark blue detail wall (NCS S 6030-R90B).

The remaining walls are decorated with the Paradiso Cobalt wallpaper by Masureel.

The bathroom was updated in 2024, inspired by David Hockney’s “The Big Splash”. The light pink tiles are paired with black fittings, a terrazzo sink from Kuma with a base from HTH, and a mirror cabinet from Macro Design.

The hall is painted in Lapptussans Dusk by Nordsjö and features a built-in wardrobe and a storage shelf above the doorframe.

The apartment is listed for sale at Alvhem.
