The first impression is of the walls, a soft plaster pink, limewashed to a raw and authentic finish. Against this backdrop, everything else falls into place with ease.
Natural textures set the tone: worn tiled checkerboard floors, simple sash windows, and a room that feels as though it has grown gracefully into its surroundings rather than being contrived.

The kitchen design uses deVOL’s Shaker cabinets, painted in deVOL’s own rich Refectory Red shade. The richly painted cabinets are topped with honed black granite.

A black AGA stove has been fitted into the former fireplace niche. The traditional stove is paired with deVOL’s Lace Market Tiles that are inspired by Nottingham’s lacemakers of the early 1900s.
The kitchen is modest in size, so keeping the walls open and without upper cabinets helps to create a more open and spacious feeling. The plate rack, painted in the same color as the cabinets, adds handy storage.
A petite vintage prep table stands in the center of the room, adding character thanks to the dark wood and work surface to the modest-sized kitchen.
Above the vintage prep table hangs a pretty Art Deco chandelier that lends a hint of French bistro charm to the English-style kitchen.
