A Muted Color Palette in a Cozy 1920s Apartment in Stockholm
This charming two-bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of a 1920s building in the popular Gamla Enskede area in Stockholm. The 67 square meter apartment features original elements like doors, joinery, and high ceilings that have been complemented by elements in a traditional style.
Despite the small size, the apartment is comfortable and practical with an open-plan kitchen and living room, two bedrooms, a renovated bathroom, and a spacious hall with shelves, small storage, and a wardrobe.

The entire apartment is painted in calm, natural shades like gray, light yellow, and muted blue, adding a sense of calm in this city apartment.

In the living room, light gray walls are paired with a white-oiled floor and a jute rug. The calm, natural base is paired with natural materials, art, and decor in various (muted) colors and textures.

Two large windows in the open-plan living space look out over treetops, adding a private and natural vibe.

A wooden folding table is a natural divider between the sitting area and the kitchen. The table can be extended and placed in the center to add more seating space for dinner parties.

A white Louis Poulsen pendant lamp hangs above the dining table. The folding table is surrounded by classic Hans J. Wegner CH24 dining chairs.

The classic kitchen mirror doors are painted in a creamy-white shade and paired with a light marble countertop and classic white metro tiles as the backsplash.

The counterspace is paired with open shelves, while the side wall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling cabinets to maximize storage space.

There is an open doorway between the spacious hall and the living room, maximizing the feeling of space.

The largest bedroom pairs light yellow walls with a light herringbone parquet floor. There is room for a desk under the window and with views of the greenery outside, it is a perfect place to work.

There is no need for bulky storage furniture in the room as it comes with a spacious walk-in closet.

The smaller bedroom is painted in a muted blue shade and features the same light oiled herringbone parquet as the master bedroom.

The bathroom was renovated a couple of years ago in a style that matches the apartment’s building period.
The walls are covered with white beveled half-joint tiles, and the floor is covered with blue/white Victorian patterned tiles.

The hall is spacious and provides plenty of storage. There are wall-mounted bookshelves, an open wardrobe with a coat rack, open shelves, and closed cabinets. The door hides a space for the washer and dryer.

Small storage baskets and hooks are fitted next to the door for keys and other smaller items.
