English Manor Style Interiors in a New Swedish Home with Lake Views
Today I want to share a home with you where the outside absolutely does not match the interiors. I was extremely surprised when I saw a modern Swedish house with lake views and to find interiors that match a historic English country manor.
The lakeside villa was built in 2021 on a sought-after lake plot with its own beach and boat pier. The house has a floor plan of 368 square meters spanning two floors. In most rooms, you have a wonderful view of the lake through the large windows.

The ground floor consists of the living spaces in a semi-open floor plan. The generous living rooms have fireplaces and impressive ceiling heights of up to 6 meters with exposed wooden beams.
The main sitting room is a wonderful cozy room with dark blue walls, rustic wooden floorboards, and ochre yellow sofas.
From the living room you can access one of the many terraces with a gorgeous view of the lake.
A deep red hallway connects the living room with the home library on the left, and the dining room/kitchen beyond.
Are we in a newly built Swedish home or in an English manor? The home library is exactly what you would expect in an old English home. Dark-painted walls, velvet armchairs, a large rug, a fireplace, and bookshelves create a cozy home library in English style.
The red paint color from the hall continues in the dining room, where rustic wooden floorboards are paired with a large Persian rug and an antique dining table.
Double wooden doors separate the dining room from the kitchen.
The kitchen is designed in a contemporary style, with wooden cabinets paired with marble and wooden countertops.
The luxurious marble paired with the rustic old floorboard is a nice detail.
The moody powder room in classic English style is decorated with the Japanese Byƶbu wallpaper.
One half of the upper floor is home to a grand master suite with a bathroom decorated with black tiles and a large walk-in wardrobe.
The family bathroom is a grand, luxurious space with green tiles and a green ceiling paired with a copper bath and an antique bathroom vanity.
The exterior is not at all what you expect from the English-style interiors.
The house is listed for sale at Residence Christie’s International Real Estate.
