A Beautiful Family Home in a Grand 1930s Villa in Sweden

In the south of Sweden, close to the sea, stands a 1930s villa that has been lovingly transformed into a beautiful family home. The 181-square-meter house was renovated by its current owners, who added dark-stained herringbone parquet, limestone, chest panels for a classic look, and wallpaper in the bedrooms.

The ground floor is designed with an open floor plan with a dedicated area for the kitchen, dining room, and sitting room. The views into the other rooms add a sense of volume to the home. Upstairs are five bedrooms, and the living area can be extended outdoors to the modern garden.

The kitchen pairs muted green cabinets with wooden worktops and a limestone floor. From the kitchen you have access to the garden and with the plants wrapped around the window, they also brought nature indoors.

The walls in the kitchen are decorated with the light ‘Honeysuckle and Tulip’ wallpaper by William Morris.

Between the kitchen and the living room lies the dining room, which has a large wooden table surrounded by a lovely mixture of wooden chairs. The windows on two sides offer lovely views of the garden.

Thanks to the living room’s L shape, there are two sitting areas. The big seating space is defined by a large beige rug on the dark-stained parquet floor.

The stairwell is decorated with the ‘Rosenvinge’ wallpaper from Boråstapeter. The design was inspired by an original Renaissance wallpaper discovered on the walls of a beautiful old building with a fascinating history.

In one of the children’s rooms, they created a ‘secret den’ where the daughter sleeps. The walls are adorned with the Borastapeter Falsterbo III wallpaper.
