A Gothenburg Apartment with a Small Dark Green Bedroom
In a charming and popular area in Gothenburg, Sweden, lies this turn-of-the-century apartment with a small dark green bedroom and period features from the time the house was built.
The entire apartment has been renovated, adding a fresh layer of paint on the walls, sanding the floorboards, and adding a new, modern kitchen. Thanks to this renovation, the apartment now has a wonderful social floor plan.

During the renovation, the wall between the kitchen and living room was partially removed, creating a semi-open living space that is so popular in today’s homes.
The living room walls are painted in a dark beige shade, making the white stucco, baseboards, and ceiling rosette really stand out. The wooden floorboards are also original to the house, adding lots of character to the interiors.
Two large windows and glazed balcony doors in the kitchen flood the living area with natural light.
Thanks to the removal of the wall, the living area now has space for a large dining table between the kitchen and the sitting room.
The base of the kitchen is made from IKEA cabinets that are paired with mixers from Tapwell and a sink from Blanco.
The dark taupe gray cabinets are topped with a Quartz composite worktop, Coral Clay. A double row of upper cabinets adds plenty of storage and makes use of the high ceilings in the apartment.
Glazed doors in the kitchen open up to the balcony, a lovely extension to the living spaces in the summer months.
From the hall, you move into the small bedroom, where the walls are painted in a dark green shade that almost looks black depending on the light.
There is only a small window in the bedroom; the dark paint color and the earth-colored bedding create a cozy cocoon.
The hall is a large and welcoming space with beige walls, original wooden floorboards, and built-in wardrobes.
The apartment was listed for sale at Alvhem.
