IKEA GREJSIMOJS: A Playful Collection for Everyday Life
IKEA is introducing GREJSIMOJS, a vibrant new collection of 33 products created to celebrate the joy and the growing importance of play in everyday life.
Built on the belief that play belongs to everyone, regardless of age, the collection transforms familiar household objects into sources of imagination, creativity, and delight.
Inspired by findings from the IKEA Play Report 2024, which highlights how play can reduce stress, spark creativity, and strengthen family bonds, GREJSIMOJS brings together playful shapes, expressive colors, and tactile materials that invite interaction while naturally blending into the home.
The report also reveals a shift in how families view play: 21% of parents say they play with their children more often than they did a few years ago, and more than half wish they could do so even more, yet time, space, and ideas often stand in the way.
The IKEA GREJSIMOJS collection aims to bridge that gap with an assortment of furniture and accessories designed to make playfulness easier, more accessible, and part of the everyday rhythm of home life.
GREJSIMOJS is not just a playful collection; it has also been designed in a playful way. Initially, more than twenty designers came together to start the work, twelve of whom later contributed to the finished collection. Despite an open invitation to think freely, GREJSIMOJS is firmly rooted in research about play.
Play happens anywhere, all across the home. With GREJSIMOJS, IKEA wants to make it easier to get the fun going by sparking imagination, creativity, and the joy of movement.
So, there’s a lot to be said about the benefits of playful items that you’ll want to keep on display, like a great-looking rocking bird or a balance board.
“One of the starting points for what became the GREJSIMOJS collection was our own childhood memories. That was how I came up with the idea of a rocking toy that sits just as great in the living room as in the playroom,” says designer Ellen Hallström
This soft, fluffy cover (in pink and blue) transforms the MAMMUT high chair into a real eye-catcher. Perfect as a comfortable desk chair in a child’s room, but also a playful addition to the living room. Conveniently, the cover is machine washable after intensive use.
The cheerful GREJSIMOJS floor cushions, available in various colors and sizes, are versatile. Create a game with them, for example, and bounce from one cushion to the next with the whole family. They’re also wonderfully soft and comfortable to sit on.
This playful storage pouf with fun feet is perfect for storing toys and small items. It makes tidying up a lot more fun as children learn to put all their toys away neatly. Plus, you can sit on it too.
Fold it into a small house, create a fantasy world, or your own private nook. The GREJSIMOJS room divider works in all spaces.
This lamp resembles a friendly giraffe, watching over you while you sleep. It’s easy to use: you can easily move it, it provides a soft, diffused light, and thanks to the built-in timer, it switches off automatically.
“The giraffe was born from an idea of designing a lamp with a movable head. I drew sketch after sketch, and eventually, I began to see the right attitude. I love how it’s not only a lamp but this gentle creature who watches over you as you fall asleep,” says designer Marta Krupińska
