A Preview of Kelly Wearstler’s H&M Home Collection at Milan Design Week

At this year’s Milan Design Week, H&M HOME steps confidently into a new chapter, unveiling a landmark collaboration with celebrated American interior designer Kelly Wearstler.

Set within the storied walls of Palazzo Acerbi, the installation marks a dual debut: the brand’s first furniture-focused designer partnership and Wearstler’s first presentation at the iconic design fair.

Open to the public from 21–26 April 2026, the exhibition introduces a curated preview of a 29-piece collection that reimagines furniture as a modular, evolving system.

Each piece is designed to adapt, shifting, expanding, and interacting with its environment, reflecting the rhythms of everyday life while blurring the boundaries between function and sculpture.

“This collaboration with Kelly Wearstler is about exploring how design can shape the way we live, through pieces that are both expressive and adaptable. Through the installation at Milan Design Week, we are expanding our design universe and offering new ways to experience H&M HOME.

Presenting the collection at Palazzo Acerbi allows us to translate these ideas into a physical environment that invites people to connect with the collection on a deeper level,” says Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, H&M HOME Head of Design & Creative

The choice of Palazzo Acerbi adds a compelling narrative layer. The 17th-century Baroque residence, rarely open to the public, provides a dramatic backdrop where ornate architectural heritage meets bold contemporary design. The contrast heightens the collection’s sculptural qualities and emphasizes its dialogue with space and history.

For Kelly Wearstler, the setting is integral to the experience: “Bringing this collection to life in Milan, and showing how these pieces exist within a real environment, is incredibly exciting. H&M HOME’s global reach and storytelling approach make them the perfect partner.”

Produced by Studio Boum, the installation unfolds as a series of immersive rooms, each exploring themes of ritual, transformation, and modularity. Visitors move through a choreographed journey where furniture becomes both a functional object and an experiential element.

Courtyard
The experience begins outdoors, where NOXEN stools form a sculptural installation that sits between furniture and architecture, framed by flowing okra-toned curtains.

Entrance
A rhythmic introduction space features the EMERA table lamp reimagined at floor scale, establishing a sense of repetition and presence.

Dining Room
NOXEN chairs are displayed on mirrored plinths, creating a visual tension between the palace’s historic surfaces and the collection’s contemporary forms.

Music Room
A more introspective setting, where AUREX lamps are housed within shutter-like structures. Light projections and sound design create a cinematic atmosphere.

Reading Room
Designed for pause and reflection, this space features AVERN armchairs and the ORTRA sofa table in a circular configuration, offering a more grounded environment for conversation.

The installation extends beyond sight and form. A bespoke scent, created by Kelly Wearstler in collaboration with SIDE HUSTLE in Los Angeles, infuses the space with notes of orange flower, jasmine, Japanese quince, mate absolute, and palo santo, deepening the sensory experience.
